Inside a Great Gatsby-themed Chicago Wedding
David + Aigars
Venue: Swedish American Museum
Guests: 150
Before traveling to the Swedish American Museum for their celebration in full-on Gatsby style, David and Aigars exchanged nuptials at Mary’s Attic in Andersonville in front of close family and friends.
After saying their vows, David, Aigars and their guests paraded around the neighborhood, still glowing from the ceremony and looking forward to the night of celebration at the museum where Tasty Catering’s crew awaited.
While the wedding party made their way to the reception, the Tasty Catering wedding team was busy coordinating all vendor deliveries and setting up the venue, turning the Swedish American Museum into David and Aigars’ dream reception atmosphere.
Guests entered the reception to jazz music and were greeted by Tasty Catering butler-passed hors d’oeuvres of Chicken Mojo, Petite Caprese Skewers, Coconut Crusted Shrimp and BBQ Bites.
The couple shared many special moments together, including the cutting of the cake, before the remainder of the evening’s itinerary was under way.
It was important to the groom that there be some interaction between the catering and the guests at the wedding reception. As a result, Tasty Catering incorporated several action stations throughout the dinner portion, including a Carving Station with Chef Jesse and a Mac ‘n’ Cheese Station so that guests could create their own macaroni dishes.
Smiling and laughing guests enjoyed a dinner buffet of our popular Chicken Champagne, Mediterranean Green Beans and Waldorf Salad.
In addition to a beautiful cake, desserts included a Tasty Catering Sweets Action Table where our chef torched fresh Crème Brule in individual cups as guests approached–very ritzy indeed! Desserts were paired with coffee and tea.
After a delicious dinner, the party really started with “Let’s Have a KiKi.” The chairs were empty and spaced was cleared as soon as the music started, and it remained so for the remainder of the evening, except for the occasional rest in between sessions of dancing.
The night continued with the Tasty Catering team there to make sure guests were well-fed and that all other vendors, including the rental companies, were on-time when collecting their equipment at the end of the evening.
As the evening came to an end and guests slowly departed, the Tasty Catering staff were the last team on the scene, making sure the venue was left in pristine condition. It was another successful, memorable and exceptionally fun wedding the grooms and their guests will never forget.
