The COVID-19 pandemic wasn’t going to stop FONA International from having fun with its employees this summer. In lieu of a traditional picnic, the Geneva-based flavor company opted for a drive-thru picnic where employees were able to stay in their car but still receive gifts, enter raffles and enjoy some Tasty food. The stations even included a personal greeting from founders Joe and Mary Slawek.
To ensure everyone had fun, FONA had a car decorating competition with prizes for Most Whimsical, Most FONA Spirit and Best of the Best. Winner received a $25 Target gift card. In addition to the car competition, they had a raffle with the top prize being $1,500!
Tasty Catering provided over 500 employees with a to-go picnic that they could enjoy at home with their families. There were six different menus for employees to choose from: standard, veggie, gluten-free, dairy-free and gluten-free, no onions and no eggs. The standard menu included:
- Pulled pork
- BBQ sauce
- Baked beans
- Mac & cheese
- American potato salad
- Assorted picnic cookies
- Hamburger buns
- Knives, forks, spoons and plates
Guests were able to choose their menu ahead of time, and the coolers were ready to be placed directly into their cars by the Tasty team.
We are lucky to have such innovative and caring clients like FONA International, who will find a way to have fun and treat their team no matter the circumstances.
