Appreciation Event for Employees Features Holiday Buffet and LOTS of Treats

On Thursday, December 13th, 2018, one of our clients held a joyous holiday luncheon for 310 employees at their facility in Glendale Heights.

Guests began to line up for their lunch around 10:30 a.m., which featured the following delicious appetizers:

  • Balsamic tomato jam crostini – honey balsamic tomato jam, black pepper mousse and onion crisps on savory crostini
  • Meatballs in a sweet chili sauce topped with green onions
  • Bacon and cheese baby “reds” – baby red potatoes filled with crisp smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, sour cream and chives with sun-dried tomato
  • Cucumber bites – fresh cucumber filled with hummus, topped with tomato

The main course featured hot, savory meats, that were sliced and served by our chefs. The carving stations included:

  • Black pepper crusted sirloin of black angus beef served with a red wine sauce
  • Sage and cranberry butter basted roasted turkey breast with gravy

In addition to the delicious turkey breast and sirloin of beef, our client made sure to chose a couple vegetarian and vegan items, to satisfy all dietary needs. The following items were served at the buffet:

  • Stuffed shells 
  • Stuffed peppers

Our client wanted guests to be presented with a variety of healthy and filling options to accompany their main dish, which included:

  • Roasted root vegetables
  • Green beans with carrots and roasted red peppers in a light butter sauce
  • Mashed yukon potatoes with gravy
  • Baked sweet potato mash topped with marshmallows, corn flakes and brown sugar
  • Dried fruit brown rice pilaf finished with fresh rosemary and sage

They also ordered two of our most popular salads:

  • Winter salad –  romaine lettuce, feta cheese on the side, white beans, roasted red peppers and pepperoncini topped with arugula and served with red wine vinaigrette
  • Endive and pear – Belgian endive, spinach, pear, red onion and almonds served with a champagne vinaigrette

Finally, guests satisfied their sweet tooth and treated themselves to the HUGE display of desserts, including:

  • Holiday fudge brownies
  • Miniature chocolate fudge brownies with a peppermint drizzle
  • Mini cheesecake English toffee graham cracker crust with cheesecake filling and toffee pieces, decorated for the holidays
  • Truffle lollipops – assorted chocolate, margarita, mai tai
  • Mousse cups – chocolate, strawberry and passion fruit
  • Strudel bites – mini apple and cherry strudel bites dusted with powdered sugar
  • Signature dessert tray – chocolate-dipped strawberries, mini tarts, mini eclairs, bake shop cookies, assorted dessert bars and cheesecake bites
  • Fruit kabobs

If a never-ending display of desserts wasn’t enough to wow employees, their take-home custom goodie bags certainly were. Inside a personalized craft bag were the following items: a donut cookie with sprinkles, All that Jazz Mix and caramel corn. The gift, provided by That’s Caring, included a small message about the items that go toward fighting child hunger.

Employees thoroughly enjoyed this holiday event and the appreciation that the executive team showed. Our team also enjoyed being a part of this special holiday event. We’re grateful to have a partner that trusts our team to bring their vision to life.
