A global, diversified healthcare company with a commitment to sustainability spanning three decades, many countries and countless awards, Baxter International Inc. just got “Greener” with Tasty Catering. When a major division of Baxter was ready to plan its “Go Green” event, they contacted two caterers to bid on the event. The healthcare company decision was made easy, once they sampled Tasty Catering’s quality food and learned that Tasty Catering is also very environmentally responsible.

Baxter learned that all Tasty Catering picnics utilize eco-responsible, sustainable products such as 99 percent reclaimed fiber plates and bowls, renewable cornstarch based flatware and PLA cold cups and straws. They also learned about Tasty Catering’s picnic waste grease being sent to a recycling service for use in hair and skin care products, and the company’s funding of Terra Pass to offset the carbon dioxide emissions from its trucks.
Results
While 300 Baxter employees celebrated their “Go Green” efforts, they were treated to Tasty Catering’s top quality picnic fare, including Black Angus andveggie burgers, pure beef hot dogs, chicken breasts, salads, fresh roasted corn, watermelon and ice cream. Per Baxter’s request, Tasty Catering provided signage to inform employees about the various picnic products contributing to green initiatives.
